MindCell Technologies (“we”, “us”) operates the ADHD Pattern Journal app (“the app”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR.

The app collects the following personal data when you create journal entries:

• Daily wellness scores: mood (1–10), energy (1–10), sleep quality (1–5), executive function (1–5)
• ADHD states and symptoms you select
• Routines and triggers you log
• Free-text notes: wins, trigger notes, and scratchpad entries
• Voice note transcripts (converted from audio to text)
• Goals, intentions, and completion records
• Account email and authentication data (managed by the Base44 platform)

We do not collect precise location data, biometric data, or data from third-party accounts.

Your data is used solely to:

• Store and display your journal entries, goals, and history within the app
• Generate personalised pattern insights using an AI language model
• Produce visual analytics and trend charts from your entries
• Calculate streaks and consistency metrics for your goals

We do not use your data for advertising, sell your data to third parties, or use it to train AI models.

When you complete a check-in or request refreshed insights, your journal data (including voice transcripts and written notes) is sent to an AI language model hosted by our platform provider. The model analyses your entries to produce a daily summary, key patterns, and supportive suggestions. The AI output is stored as an Insight record linked to your account.

The AI provider may temporarily process your data to generate the response but does not retain it or use it for model training.

Your data is stored securely in the Base44 platform database. All data in transit is encrypted via TLS. Access to your records is protected by Row-Level Security (RLS), meaning only you can read, edit, or delete your own entries. No other app user or administrator can access your journal data.

We rely on the following third parties to operate the app:

• Base44 — hosting, database, authentication, and AI integration infrastructure
• AI Language Model Provider — processes journal data to generate insights (sub-processor of Base44)

Each provider is a data processor acting on our instructions under appropriate data processing agreements.

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access — view all your data at any time within the app
• Right to data portability — export all your data as a JSON file from Settings → Export All Data
• Right to erasure — delete all your data from Settings → Clear All Data, or permanently delete your account from Settings → Delete Account
• Right to rectification — edit any journal entry from the History page at any time
• Right to object — stop using the app and delete your data at any time
• Right to withdraw consent — clear your data or delete your account at any time

To exercise any of these rights, use the controls in Settings or contact us using the details below.

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you use Clear All Data, your journal entries, insights, and goals are permanently deleted. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently erased.

We do not sell, share, or disclose your journal entries, mood data, ADHD focus logs, voice transcripts, or any personal data to third parties for advertising, marketing, or any commercial purpose. Your data is strictly encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. You own your data: export all of it at any time from Settings, and delete it permanently whenever you choose.

The app offers a 7-day free trial followed by a recurring subscription at £4.99/month. When you start the trial, your card details are captured upfront to prevent service interruption, but £0.00 is charged today. On Day 7, your subscription auto-renews at £4.99/month unless you cancel. You can cancel at any time with one click from Settings, with no further charges. We do not store your card details, they are processed securely by our payment provider.

MindCell is a pattern journal and self-reflection tool. It is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and does not diagnose, treat, or monitor any health condition. The insights generated are observational patterns from your own entries, not clinical assessments. If you have concerns about your mental health, ADHD, or wellbeing, please contact your healthcare team or a qualified medical professional.

The app is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
